Summer tour - Life behind bars
In the summer of 2026, the PRISON MUSEUM invites the whole family to exciting tours behind the walls of the former Horsens State Prison. Come out onto the historic prison grounds and get a unique insight into a closed world filled with dramatic escape attempts, smuggling, harsh rules and strong human destinies. Here, history comes alive right where it happened. Hear stories about the prisoners' everyday lives, the work of the prison guards, and the many stories that still hang in the walls after 153 years as an active prison.Among other things, you can hear about Carl August Lorentzen's spectacular escape through the 18-meter-long tunnel he dug under the prison yard in secret. No two tours are exactly the same. Our presenters each have their own approach, perspectives, and favorite stories, making each tour a special experience for both children and adults. The holiday tours take place outdoors on the historic prison grounds and are suitable for the whole family. Practical information Tour guide: Changing Meeting point: Prison Museum, Fussingsvej 8, 8700 Horsens Price: 50 DKK per person + entrance fee to the Prison Museum Read more on the website

ContinueSoil is life - exhibition and soil traces
For millennia, we have used the soil, which is vital for both humans and animals. Learn more about the soil we all walk on or cultivate in gardens and fields. We rarely think about it, but soil is not just soil. The soil beneath our feet is full of life and contains plant roots, small animals and myriads of micro-life that we must take care of if we want healthy crops for animals and people and clean drinking water in the future. The earth also contains valuable materials that we humans have exploited over time and which we must use with care. And then there's the whole story about the ownership of the land... Visit the small exhibition "Earth is life" in Fjelstedgården's stable (farm no. 6) and follow the earth trail around the village. Both will help you learn more about the earth and our relationship with it in both history and the present.

ContinueGuided tour Bakkekammen 45
Enter a local time warp where Marius Pedersen lived with his wife. He designed 10 of the houses on Bakkekammen - a street close to the fjord in Holbæk - and the house stands completely untouched Enter a local time warp where architect Marius Pedersen lived with his wife. He designed 10 of the houses on Bakkekammen - a street close to the fjord in Holbæk - and the house is completely untouched. We begin the tour with a walk in the neighborhood, where we'll hear about the ideas behind the unique building style that was called 'Bedre Byggeskik'. We look into the garden at Bakkekammen 40, which was one of the main works from 1917 and end with a tour of Bakkekammen 45, which was Marius Pedersen's home. The house was built according to Marius Pedersen's drawings in 1929, where he lived and worked until his death in 1965. His widow stayed until 2007, after which the house became a museum, and it's a very special experience to step inside. The house is completely untouched with the original furniture and color scheme on the walls and doors, and it's like walking into a time warp. The grounds used to be an orchard and some of the old fruit trees still stand in the lush garden behind the house. Of course, we'll also take a walk in the garden. Bakkekammen is only accessible via guided tours. It is necessary to purchase a ticket in advance. Price: DKK 100. The ticket also covers admission to Holbæk Museum on the same day. ContinueFrankie Moreno Trio - Live (Release Party)
"Frankie Moreno Trio Vol. 1" - Live at Memphis Mansion Frankie Moreno Trio Vol. 1 captures the raw chemistry between three musicians who have spent their entire lives playing music togetherWith Frankie Moreno on piano and vocals, his brother Tony Moreno on bass, and Frankie’s son Giovanni Moreno on drums, everything is stripped down to the bare essentials: three musicians, one room, and a deep love of music and improvisation. Recorded in the spirit of a live performance, this release celebrates family, musicianship, and the magic that arises when instinct takes over and the music finds its own pathThe result is an intimate listening experience that invites you into the heart of the Moreno family’s musical legacy. The album was created over the course of several years through performances across the country. The recordings were made in intimate New York jazz clubs, on stages in San Francisco, under the open skies of Hawaii, and at countless other venues in between. Each song has evolved night after night in front of a live audience and found its very own voice. With timeless classics reimagined in the Moreno style alongside reimagined fan favorites, *Trio Vol. 1* weaves together songs, stories, and generations of musiciansThe trio uses the limitation of just three instruments as a creative strength, building a rich, dynamic sound that can fill a room one moment and reveal its most intimate details the next. The result is an album that honors the past while breathing new life into every single note! For today's event, Sunday, July 26, doors open at 1:00 p.m., and the concert starts at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday, July 25, 2026, the Frankie Moreno Trio will perform live on the outdoor stage on the lawn at Memphis Mansion—from 7:30 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. The concert will feature the newly released album *Frankie Moreno Trio - Vol. 1*, and after the show there will be time for photos and autographs.
